New Spot For Food and Beer Near the Arclight: BoHo

BoHo (meant to stand for “Bohemian Hollywood) is the new restaurant from designer Kris Keith (The Bowery, Delux, Kitchen 24) and chef André Guerrero (Oinkster). It’s inside the Arclight complex on Sunset, and offers wines, liquor, a whole bunch of beers on tap and food centered around pizza and pork products (but there will, I’m told, be vegetarian and vegan options).

Here is the concept of the design from the designer himself: “…a neighborhood retreat. I just felt that in this economy, no one would appreciate another flashy, over-the-top design, so I specifically designed a place that offered up the warmth that people feel at grandma’s house….from the antiques, to the handmade crafts, to the old piano that no one ever plays. I call it beautifully ugly.”

What I went to was what amounts to a preview function, so the experience is going to be a little different than it would be once it’s officially open. But I do know one thing: it’s sure as hell a better bet than Club Sushi.
